Fully engaged employees give their company crucial competitive advantages - specifically higher productivity, lower turnover, and sales growth. The Work Engagement Profile helps individuals and organisations ensure sustainable levels of employee engagement. Instead of focusing on extrinsic rewards - pay, benefits, awards, and so on - this assessment exclusively focuses on intrinsic rewards. In doing so it provides insights that can directly affect your organisation's bottom line, because it addresses work engagement at the core level - the employee’s feelings about the work itself.
ASSESSMENT SCALES
The WEP measures four specific "meaning" scales that determine an individual's engagement level. When these four rewards are high, employees are more likely to be self-managing and resilient.
Meaningfulness: The feeling that the work's purpose is important and that the task is worth doing.
Choice: The feeling of autonomy—that the individual is free to choose how to accomplish their work and use their best judgment.
Competence: The sense of accomplishment that comes from performing work activities skilfully or meeting personal standards of excellence.
Progress: The feeling that the work is moving forward and that the individual's efforts are achieving significant results.
AREAS OF APPLICATION
The Work Engagement Profile serves as a diagnostic for retention and performance issues.
Coaching & Development: It helps managers identify why a high-potential employee might be disengaged. For example, if an employee has high "Competence" but low "Choice," the manager knows that the solution isn't more training, but rather more autonomy.
Leadership Training: It teaches leaders how to create an environment that fosters these four rewards in their teams, moving away from "command and control" toward "empowerment."
Career Counselling: It helps individuals identify what is missing in their current roles and what to look for in future opportunities to ensure long-term job satisfaction.
